Games that are Not Games
Games that are Not Games is a series of experimental programs written in Processing (Java) that explore the boundaries between simulation, language, and play.
The project includes an adaptation of Conway’s Game of Life, a self-generated maze environment for NPCs, and an A*-based pathfinding system.
It also introduces a set of alphabets, pronunciation rules, and a behavior tree that define how NPCs perceive, communicate, and act—forming a poetic framework where “games” become living systems rather than mere entertainment.
